Rogers Cup Summary – Mens Final – Sunday August 11th, 2013

Crowd favourites Andy Murray and Colin Fleming had their hands full battling Peya and Soares who won the first set 6-4 quite handily, in the second set Murray and Fleming battled back to to force a tie breaker at 6-6, they battled back and forth but ultimately succumbed to the speed and agility of Soares and Peya who won the final 7-6 ( )….

Rafael Nadal proved too much for Milos Raonic in the final of the men’s Rogers Cup in Montreal. The Spanish star was rarely troubled by the hard-serving Canadian and cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win. Raonic was trying to become the first Canadian to win the tournament since 1958. This was the first time Raonic reached the final of a Masters 1000 tournament, a major accomplishment notwithstanding the end result.
